Current Soccer Protocols from Mass Youth Soccer

The Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association made the following announcement on Wednesday, 19 May:

After clarification of the EEA guidance effective May 18, 2021, Massachusetts Youth Soccer is making the following amendments to our protocols:

When outdoors players are not required to wear masks on the bench and in huddles.  

Masks are not required by Spectators, Coaches, Referees and other team/club/league officials when 6’ of social distance can be maintained. If this distance is not maintained masks must be worn. 

Masks are not required outdoors when entering and exiting and in common areas when 6’ of social distance can be maintained. Where proper distance can’t be maintained and indoors, masks must be worn.

Please keep in mind players of any age may continue to wear a mask at their parents discretion.

Some town, city and regional Boards of Health as well as leagues may impose more restrictive measures for facial coverings for participants and spectators. If so, these restrictions take precedence.
