BAYS Zero Tolerance Policy (BYLAW 12)
Adopted by the general membership on Feb. 10,1999
All persons responsible for a team and all the spectators shall support the referee.
Failure to do so will undermine the referee’s authority and has the potential of creating a hostile environment for players, the referee and all of the other participants and spectators.
Consequently, BAYS has adopted the following rule:
No one is to address the referee during the game!!
THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS APPLY:
A. Persons Responsible for a team ( Coach & Managers) can speak with the Referee during the game when:
· Responding to a referee initiating a communication.
· Making Substitutions.
· Pointing out emergencies or safety issues.
· Asking a referee to explain rule(s) in a polite and constructive way.
Also, at half-time or at the end of the game, a coach/manager may provide polite and friendly feedback to a referee with the understanding that absolutely NO sarcasm, harassment and intimidation will be tolerated.
