| 3rd Grade Fall |
In-town boys and girls leagues with equal strength teams. |
Professional coaches advise WSC on general skill levels of U8/2nd grade players for the purposes of creating balanced teams for U9 fall. There are no formal tryouts and the children are not aware that they are being evaluated. |
| U9 - 3rd Grade Spring |
Teams compete in Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS); teams are ranked according to ability.
U13 and U14 players MAY be mixed at the discretion of the Age Director if he/she feels it will improve the overall quality of the soccer experience for the age groups
|
Professional evaluators run tryouts with all members of the age group together. Coaches, Age Director, Soccer Board members act as additional observers. They do not provide information to professional evaluators. The tryout is completely blind. Players are identified by uniform numbers only. Professional evaluators have no prior knowledge of players.
The final decision for all player and team placements is the responsibility of the Age Director. These decisions are based on the input from tryouts, coach evaluation of the players, and direct observation of games by the Age Director.
Tryout information and coaches evaluations are maintained by the Age Director . The Age Director may share tryout information and coaches evaluations with coaches for that age group. Tryout information and coaches evaluations are not disseminated to parents or players in any form.
